Hi Sarah,

Just confirming my previous offer to help with registration. Was someone found who can speak Cantonese? I can ask my neighbors, if not. One of them may be willing.

More garden vandalism found

Sarah Hutt

To all
First - Thank you to whomever picked up trash on Wednesday or Thursday - please let me know your plan for removing trash bags from garden.  Today is trash day.  Be sure to log in your hours at cleanups@...

More Vandalism
I went back to the garden on Thursday and while picking up trash found more broken pipes from our irrigation system

Here is a list of broken plumbing and the approximate garden it is close to - if you go into the garden and see something NOT on my list PLEASE report it - don’t assume someone else will report it.  We are ordering materials for repairs and want to make sure everything is fixed.  Collect and broken pipes or valves found and put them by the shed - also respond to this email so we can add them to the list.

Be sure to keep the gates locked
And if you see anyone in the garden that shouldn’t be there call 911

These are the vandalized irrigation stations

B126   gate is broken

John and Steven are working with the Trustees to get these fixed before the water is turned on in May.

If you would like to help with repairs and get some hours respond to this email.

Hi all

For the past 27 years the garden has held the annual last day to pay fees Berkeley Garden Members Renewal opportunity in the waiting room at 40 Berkeley Street, the old YWCA. You may have come once or twice - it is advertised as the last day to renew your plot and is used by about 1/3 of the gardeners.

Unfortunately 40 Berkeley has been sold, is under construction and unavailable.

I have tried Castle Square Community Room, and a couple of other community rooms but they are not available on Saturdays.

We need a space where we can set up 2) 8’ tables - one to check names and addresses and one to take the fees.

We need a space for about 2 hours

Usually we do it from (10 - Noon) on a Saturday

to keep on the garden schedule I’d like to do it either  March 11th or 18th

but we can be flexible with these dates or times if a space was found.

 please let me know.

Thanks
Sarah

Also the Mass Bay Credit Union on 4th Street near Broadway Station has a huge meeting room that they let community organizations use.

Help is needed pulling together garden renewal packets

If you are interested in helping set up the new season please respond to this email.

If you want to do something in the garden consider picking up trash that has accumulated

If you want some exercise the Trustees have asked us to cut everything from the fences this includes along the alley - we are not allowed to have any branches reaching over into the alley.

Only 75 days till Garden Clean up and Potluck

Hi folks.
I just put some nice brand new planks of wood inside the Shawmut gate that one of our neighbors discarded in the alley. Please help yourself if you need them for new beds or whatever.

To all

This morning at about 5AM a gardener came in to check his A Row garden and put outside his garden in the main aisle a 5 gallon white plastic bucket.

Unfortunately someone took it.

He did observe an older Asian woman was who was walking thru the garden from the Tremont end on her way to the Shawmut gates at around 5 - 5:30 AM.

If you were the gardener who picked up the bucket thinking it was left behind
please return it -
it has his tools, keys to the garden and other things inside

You can leave it by the shed so we can give it back to our guy.

Please contact me so we can get this straightened out.

Please let me know if anyone has any information or questions about this incident.

Thank you
