Trustee sponsored Event in Berkeley Community Garden

Sarah Hutt

Dear Gardeners
This is a special request for your participation in an event the Trustees of the Reservation will be holding in the garden.

A Night of Live Stories in the Garden
August 16 (rain date August 17)
Admission Free

The Trustees will be partnering with PRX Podcast Garage in Allston to do a storytelling event at Berkeley.  <>

They are proposing the event be designed around the dinner time so people will be encouraged to bring a picnic or the the Trustees may have a food truck parked at one end of the park.

Gardeners, neighbors, and Podcast Garage storytellers will be invited to sign up in advance to tell a story related to the theme “Taking Root.”

The evening will begin with folks mingling and one-on-one participatory storytelling with prompts placed around the garden.

The program will consist of a series of short performances by storytellers selected in advance.

This is a free event and open to all.

In preparation for the event the Trustees are looking for your ideas for the event.    They are looking for volunteers who are interested in planning or helping on the day of the event.

They are aware we are a bilingual garden so are interested in help with translation.

If anyone has any ideas about how to make the event inclusive for gardeners who speak languages other than English.

Anyone that participates will of course be given garden credit for their work.
